ECO OUTFIT: LEATHER AND KNIT

December 17, 2015

Those who know me well. know that I am a little bit scarf obsessed. So when I was styling this look, I couldn't choose between which scarf to use and I decided to go for double trouble. I think I may be on to something here! The big scarf look (I know some of you are rocking full on blankets right now) is a major fall/ winter trend. Instead of springing for a new scarf, try layering a couple of complementing scarves to get that cozy feel. If you are ready to bring a new scarf into your wardrobe, I recommend the scarves from Norlha (available at Nomadista.co, an online eco-boutique). They are handmade on the Tibetan Plateau from natural fibers like yak hair, wool and silk which create a soft and warm layer. Pair with a chunky knit sweater like this one from Chinti & Parker, and an upcycled leather skirt.

RED SCARF, Norlha, $160. Use the code FASHIONMEGREEN to get 15% off for a limited time from Nomadista.co #fair #naturalfibers

CABLE KNIT MERINO WOOL SWEATER, Chinti & Parker, $475. #local #organic #naturalfibers #c02neutral

ZINC SKIRT, The Reformation, $228 #upcycledleather #madeinUSA

ECO OUTFIT: THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA

September 14, 2015

Staying at the Commune by the Great Wall, I had glimpses of the wall as we drove in. But when I set out to hike to the Great Wall on a dirt path with jagged rocks jutting out as to compete for attention with the surrounding lush green forest, I had no idea how wondrous seeing the Great Wall of China would be.

On a rare bluebird day (the factories were all shut down for a national holiday and thus the air quality improved dramatically overnight), I made my way on to the wall and began the roller coaster journey of trekking up and down the steep spine of the winding dragon.  Alone, I could not help but mutter out loud an audible 'wow' as I absorbed the magnitude of the wall. Higher, steeper, and longer than you could ever imagine- the Great Wall is indeed great.

Back at the Commune, I changed out of my hiking gear and into wide legged trousers and a breezy crop top.

CROP TOP (similar to one shown), Reformation, $98 #upcycled #madeinUSA

WIDE LEG TROUSERS (similar to those shown by H&M Conscious Collection), The Reformation, $188. #upcycled #madeinUSA

ECO OUTFIT: EASY PARIS CHIC

May 8, 2015

In the past month, I have been to Tokyo and London, and I am now in Paris. I was of course looking forward to the croissants, but what I didn't plan on was how comfortable I would feel adjusting my style to meet the Parisian chic way of dressing. Perhaps I was French in a former life... I absolutely love the way they combine quality designer pieces with very wearable everyday pieces. A tee with heels and a designer accessory. Done. Or, a beautiful jacket and handbag paired with a romper and sneakers. Absolument parfait. Very little makeup and hair that isn't freshly washed, but revived with dry shampoo, is also the norm. I may never leave this place! haha
